Although based in the Trenton Village Theatre, Trenton Michigan, DYPAC provides community outreach opportunities throughout the Downriver Area for children ages 5-19 to experience the performing arts through their participation in theatrical productions and the Summer Arts Camp. As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, part of DYPAC’s mission is to create a state of the art facility through upgrades and enhancements to the existing Trenton Village Theatre. Having just completed a major renovation which included the new facade, a new fundraising event was launched in the spring of 2005 to add the final touch--a new electronic marquee. The “Dare to Imagine” fundraiser in conjunction with the “Masked Ball” were created to raise the donations necessary to fund the new marquee and heighten the local awareness of the performing arts. Buy Me Realty® was amongst more than 50 contributors who each donated $1,000 or more to fund this project. In recognition of our contribution, we were fortunate to have a local 9 year old artist named Patrick Randall, design and create our two theatrical masks which now hang in the Trenton Village Theatre in an illuminated glass case for all to see. As you can see from the picture, Patrick chose to illustrate our company’s commitment to the community through our philanthropic activities in the “laughter” mask. By contrast, the “sadness” mask exemplifies a world without compassion. We are proud of our involvement with DYPAC and encourage others to do the same. Make a difference in a child’s life, introduce them to the performing arts! |
